Russia’s democratically elected President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s unelected dictator Volodymyr Zelensky have both stated that they’re ready to sit down with Donald Trump to negotiate a peace deal. Both leaders made that announcement within 24 hours of Trump’s election. Two years, a couple hundred billion in wasted US taxpayer dollars, and hundreds of thousands of lost lives later, it’s about time.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, Joe Biden is still in charge for the next two months. And as Barack Obama once famously said, “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to eff things up.”
For the first time during the Ukraine war, Biden has authorized the use of long-range, US-supplied missiles to strike targets deep inside Russia. France and the UK have also authorized the use of their long-range SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles to hit targets deep inside Russian territory. This is a shocking escalation that puts us even closer to the brink of World War III, right as President Trump is about to take office.
Zelensky has immediately pivoted from peace talks to making threats to Russia once again with this newfound—and extremely insane—power at his fingertips.
Putin’s motorcade showed up in the middle of the night at the Kremlin, which only happens if something of massive consequence is underway. He’ll have no choice but to see this as an enormous escalation of the war if NATO-aligned countries help Ukraine blow stuff up inside Russia.
To understand what a huge provocation this is, you have to remember that the US, France, and the UK don’t trust the backwater Ukrainians to run their weapons systems. This means that US intelligence agencies will be picking targets inside Russia. A US operator will push the button to launch the missiles, and US satellites will guide those missiles to their targets. The same goes for the French and British missiles.
How would Putin not see this as NATO crossing a red line? He may be forced to strike targets in the UK and France in response. Of course, that’s what the money launderers in Clown World want to happen. They’d love to see this war escalate and draw in more countries and drag on for the next 20 years.
Putin has been remarkably restrained throughout this war. He could wipe out the entire population of Ukraine with just a couple of nuclear bombs but hasn’t. Zelensky and the people running him as a puppet are lunatics. He’ll bomb schools and hospitals and then blame Putin for it. He needs devastation so Washington will keep sending him a sweet payday every few months.
We should keep in mind, though, that everyone realizes Ukraine has lost the war by now. Russia is in the process of wiping out the last of Ukraine’s best troops in the Kursk pocket. This threat of long-range missiles could be another weak negotiating ploy on the part of Biden and NATO. Maybe they’re hoping that a false show of strength from NATO and Ukraine will dupe Russia into settling for less territory than it’s already taken in the war.
The war was a shockingly stupid instigation by the Biden-Harris regime in the first place. Ukraine was never going to take on a nuclear-armed superpower and win.
It wouldn’t make any sense to escalate the Ukraine war right now, especially since stopping the war was a centerpiece of Trump’s campaign and victory. Unless, of course, you are a petty and vindictive little rat who doesn’t want your nemesis, incoming President Trump, to succeed. Joe Biden has always been a nasty, bitter, old pervert who could hold a grudge for decades.
It would be just like Joe to try to wreck the country even worse before he leaves office. It’s sort of “on brand” for Democrats.
People were shocked 24 years ago by the damage that the outgoing Clinton White House did before George W. Bush’s transition. They were mad that Al Gore had lost the 2020 election. Bill and Crooked Hillary stole all sorts of memorabilia from the White House and took it home with them. Bitter White House staffers clogged the toilets before they left. They even stole the “W” key off every computer keyboard in the White House to make it harder to type the incoming president’s full name.
That was childish and petty, but at least the Clintons didn’t try to start World War III on their way out the door. Look for more insane moves by Team Biden to try to wreck the country before they leave office on January 20th.
