Biden White House Tried to Censor Americans’ Private Messages about Vaccines

Imagine it was two years ago, and you wanted to send a text message or email to a loved one to warn them that something was “off” with the newfangled COVID shots. But the message wouldn’t go through. That was what the Biden regime actually tried to pull off in 2021. According to a new report and a tranche of emails released through a FOIA request, the Biden White House tried to censor Americans’ private messages if they said anything negative about the vaccines.

We started noticing early on that something was really haywire with the COVID shots. People were having seizures at vaccination clinics. Others were having heart attacks or strokes within a short time of receiving their shots. Nurses were fainting on camera. It was a hot mess.

But just six days after they took office, the Biden regime was trying to prevent people from knowing about any of this. People were noticing that the shots were dangerous. Team Biden was so paranoid about this that they were pestering Meta – the parent company of Facebook – to censor private messages between individuals on WhatsApp, an encrypted messaging app that works similar to text messages. The White House was demanding that people not be allowed to send “disinformation” (i.e., factually true information) about the shots to family members, friends or acquaintances.

We already learned that the entire federal government was involved in censoring people’s public messages on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. But this is the first time we’re learning that they were actively trying to censor private communications between individuals.

If you post something on a social media channel like Facebook, Twitter or YouTube, that’s a front-facing, public message. Anyone can read it, and popular ideas can go viral. But the messages that you send via text message or with an app like WhatsApp are private. No one can see them except you and the person(s) you send a message to.

Most people use WhatsApp on a personal, one-to-one basis. More than 90% of the groups set up on WhatsApp have fewer than 10 people in them, according to Meta. It’s impossible for any idea sent via personal messages like this to go viral.

Yet the Biden White House was even scared of personal messages that violated the COVID vaccine narrative. They didn’t want anyone in American society to learn that they were basically poisoning people with the dangerous and ineffective COVID shots.

In March of 2021, a tyrannical bureaucrat named Rob Flaherty, who is the White House Director of Digital Strategy, started bothering Meta and demanding that they censor personal messages between individuals if they say anything bad about the shots. To their credit, the people at Meta tried to patiently explain to Flaherty, who is apparently an idiot, how private, encrypted messages work. Meta can’t censor people’s messages if they can’t even read them on WhatsApp.

Flaherty started sending threatening questions to Meta, basically demanding that they explain to the White House whether they could be trusted to censor American citizens. Meta tried to patronize Flaherty like the moron that he is. They couldn’t censor messages on WhatsApp because they can’t read them, and messages on WhatsApp cannot go viral under any circumstance.

Flaherty became furious with Meta by April of 2021, and sent the following message to them in an email:

“I care mostly about what actions and changes you’re making to ensure you’re not making our country’s vaccine hesitancy problem worse. I still don’t have a good, empirical answer on how effective you’ve been at reducing the spread of vaccine-skeptical content and misinformation to vaccine fence sitters.”

You can almost feel the smarmy condescension dripping off of that foul little bureaucrat’s words.

Now that the truth is finally coming out about what these people did and tried to do, there need to be consequences. The White House doesn’t get to censor Americans under any circumstance. That’s not how freedom or the First Amendment works. If we are wrong about the COVID shots and they are totally safe and effective, it’s still not the government’s job to censor us. You’re allowed to be wrong in a free society.

The good news is that the Biden administration did not succeed in censoring private messages sent between individuals during the pandemic. But now we know that they were trying really hard to violate the First Amendment. Hey, is stuff like this impeachable?
